93MWdc in Strabally, County Laois<\/h2>\n

The East Laois solar project is a 348 acre, 93MWdc solar farm in Strabally, County Laois. The site received planning permission in June 2018.<\/p>\n

The East Laois solar project Biodiversity Management Plan will help provide ecosystem benefits across the land, ensuring it is responsibly managed throughout the life of the solar project, with a major focus on enhancing the local ecosystems. Lightsource bp\u2019s rich seed mix was used to provide a meadow pasture across the site.<\/p>\n

As previous agricultural land, the soil has been intensively farmed. A combination of the passive nature of the solar farm and Lightsource bp\u2019s management plan will allow the land to regenerate to its natural strength.<\/p>\n

When Lightsource bp prepared this project, an information event was hosted for the local community, to gather their feedback and opinions as we finalised the design for the solar farm. The local community are an important part of all Lightsource bp developments, consultations offer a chance to gather their feedback and opinions as we design solar project. Local feedback helps ensure the sites integrate seamlessly into the surrounding area, by incorporating residents\u2019 suggestions into the site plans.<\/p>\n
