\n How Lightsource began<\/span>\n

Growing into a global onshore renewables leader, anchored by our world-class track record in solar development<\/h2>\n

Lightsource bp was founded in 2010 with a sole focus to develop large-scale solar power for our world. In 2015, we began exploring international business opportunities across Europe, the Americas and Asia.<\/p>\n

In 2017, we announced our partnership with bp, rebranding to Lightsource bp and setting out our shared mission to accelerate the deployment of solar power across the world. \u200bOur partnership with bp was the catalyst for more success, growing our business significantly. In 2024, bp fully acquired Lightsource bp, doubling its investment in us.<\/p>\n

We continue to innovate, invest, and push boundaries to drive the energy transition, aiming to become a global leader in onshore renewables.<\/p>\n
